Joao Maria de Souza, 45, of Caratinga, Brazil, was lying on his bed with his wife when a cow fell through the roof and crushed him, the BBC reported Sunday.
He was taken to the hospital with internal bleeding and abdominal trauma. He died a day later.
The 1.5-ton hill had been grazing on a hill behind the victim's home, when it managed to break through the fence and climb onto his roof.
According to the Daily Mirror, de Souza waited for hours for treatment at the local hospital.
"Being crushed by a cow is the last way you expect to leave this earth," his brother-in-law told a local newspaper. "But in my view it wasn't the cow that killed our João, it was the unacceptable time he spent waiting to be examined."
Believe it or not, two other cows have fallen through roofs near de Souza in the last three years. There were no casualties in either case.
