Idina Menzel Not ‘Frozen’ by Wardrobe Malfunction

You've got to hand it to Idina Menzel. It seems as if she's taken the words from her Academy Award-winning Frozen hit "Let It Go" to heart. Not only did she keep her cool at the Oscars when John Travolta changed her name to "Adele Dazeem" just before her big moment, she was completely unfazed when Hugh Jackman decided to sit in her lap during this year's Tony Awards.
Adding to her list of calmly dealing with curve balls, she handled a wardrobe malfunction on June 16 with humor and grace.
As video from her sold-out single-date at Radio Music Hall shows, Menzel had just started singing theRent song "Take Me Or Leave Me," when she picked up on a cue from the audience that her black leather bra, visible from her sparkly, silver cut-out dress, was slip, slidin' away...revealing a little bit more than desired.
Instead of freaking out, Menzel calmly asked the crowd, "What? My boob's coming out?" After a stage hand ran on stage to assist her, Menzel did a little self-adjusting and kept her wits and sense of humor.
"Well, she was a sexy character," she said, referring to the role of Maureen, who coincidentally sings about people staring at her in Jonathan Larson's musical. "Is it in?" she asked after making some final adjustments.
"These divas need their stage," she proclaimed, as the crowd roared and clapped in approval.
Menzel is nothing if not savvy about the media: "That's going to be all over television," she added astutely. She then let loose with some language that's not quite appropriate for the Frozen crowd. "Well, f**k it, they're real."
That's not something that would come out of Elsa the Snow Queen's mouth, but no one seemed to mind.
Menzel's latest Broadway role, the lead in If/Then, debuted on Broadway at the end of March. Menzel peformed at the 2014 Tony Awards earlier this month, where she was nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for her role in If/Then.
